The other person with confirmed infection works today in the department of Senjalegen, Finnsnes. The person became ill on Thursday and was tested that same day. In the days before symptoms appear, the person has been working. The infected person has used protective equipment in contact with the patient, but there are still 3 patients who are defined as close contact. These have been contacted and quarantined. Additionally, 4 employees at the doctor’s office have been quarantined and 4 other close contacts have been quarantined.
– Because of this, the Finnsnes doctor’s office is on a red level. This means that any contact with the patient that is not strictly necessary is canceled. Therefore, patients should not physically show up for their appointment at the doctor’s office. The physician will contact patients by phone, at the same time they had an appointment, to clarify the need for further follow-up. Patients will be notified by SMS. People with appointments in the lab or locker room can come as normal, says the municipality.

Senja Municipality requests that all residents and employees take infection control rules very seriously.
– The Christmas celebrations are approaching and we want to control the situation as soon as possible.
In order to protect the most vulnerable groups and obtain control of the situation at the local level as quickly as possible, the municipality has the following recommendations for a greater focus on existing measures and some more stringent ones. Initially, this applies to the next 7 days:
- Stay home as long as possible
- Keep the number of close contacts as low as possible
- Avoid large meetings where it is difficult to stay at least one meter apart
- Avoid unnecessary events, postpone anything that can be postponed, and choose digital solutions whenever possible
- Avoid unnecessary travel and when you still choose to travel, you need to be very careful with a distance of at least 1 meter and as few close contacts as possible.
- If you get sick, even with mild symptoms, you should stay home, not travel, and have a corona test.
- Limit the number of nursing home visits. All visits made must be carried out in accordance with existing routines.
- Keep 2 meters for people in risk groups
- Increased use of home office in dialogue with employer
