On the New York Post (NYP) website, the newspaper claims the account is being held hostage.
According to NYP, Twitter is demanding that the newspaper remove six messages with links to a controversial newspaper article that comes with allegations against presidential candidate Joe Biden and his son Hunter.
Linked to disinformation campaign
The article was based on information from, among others, former Trump adviser Steve Bannon and Donald Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani. Twitter believes the article could be linked to a disinformation campaign ahead of the US presidential election.
No other reputable US media has published the case, and the information it contains has also been refuted by both Bidens and various experts.
Fifty former US intelligence officials, including several former CIA directors, believe there are many signs that Russia is behind it. A letter signed by the 50s and printed in Politico says, among other things:
“It has all the classic characteristics of a Russian information operation.” … This is in line with Russia’s goals of creating political chaos in the United States and undermining the candidacy of Joe Biden. “
According to NTB, the intelligence officers who signed the letter emphasize that they do not know what is true and have no evidence of Russian interference, but they strongly suspect from experience that the Russian authorities have played a significant role in the case.

Several other NYP employees are also said to have questioned whether the newspaper has done enough to verify what came out.
The New York Post is a conservative newspaper owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation media group. The company also owns Fox News, which is considered Trump’s favorite channel.
