It only remained almost for the emergency national team in the Nations League match against Austria.
But even though the match ended 1-1 and Austria emerged victorious from the group, the Norwegian boys were able to go home with their heads held high.
For the backup coach handed over by Leif Gunnar Smerud’s guys, it was nothing short of impressive.
And one of those who really seized the opportunity was Sondre Tronstad, 25.
The national emergency team with a heroic match against Austria: – For a moment!
The former Start and Haugesund player is hailed as one of Norway’s best players after his phenomenal performance in Vienna.
– It was very special to represent my country for the first time, writes Tronstad in an Instagram post.
– You have submitted a request to join
– Sondre Tronstad in midfield was Norway’s best player. He hardly made a mistake. Run, cover huge halls, pass safe, smart, tackle, win the ball and play through people, says Jesper Mathisen, TV 2 soccer expert.
Now TV 2 experts believe that the Vitesse player should have the opportunity in team A.
The national emergency team is hailed on the stock market: – It is the wildest thing I have ever delivered!
– I think Sondre Tronstad has submitted a request to join when all players are available. He has that combination of enormous work effort and playing well and safely in midfield. Something that Norway has lacked, especially in a 4-4-2 formation, says TV 2 soccer expert Brede Hangeland.
The match against Austria was Tronstad’s first in the national team A.
– You must be part of several teams of the Norwegian team, because in central midfield, Norway has had a lot of strange things. I’m not saying that it should come in and start, but that it should come in and be an alternative, I am very clear about it, Mathisen points out.
Sørlendingen plays daily for the Dutch Vitesse and has previously played for both Start and Haugesund.
