Sean Conley, Donald Trump’s doctor, will meet with the press on Saturday afternoon Norwegian time to give an update on Trump’s health status after he was admitted to the hospital with Covid-19 on Friday.
– The president is doing very well, says Conley, before introducing some of the other members of the medical team who are treating the president.
Late Friday night, Trump was transferred from the White House to Walter Reed Military Hospital. Then it was said that it should be for precautionary considerations. It is repeated several times during the press conference on Saturday.
– It’s the president of the United States, Conley answers direct questions about why the president is hospitalized, if he is going as well as they say.
According to various media, doctors were concerned about the president’s health before his admission, but it is said that they have improved overnight.
According to sources from the AP news agency, Trump received oxygen at the White House before being transferred to the hospital. Conley will not respond to this on whether to vote.
– Everything he says is wrong
– No fever
“We are very pleased with the progression of the president,” Conley said.
He says Trump has a mild cough and a stuffy nose, but should no longer have a fever.
Conley refuses to answer whether Trump has received oxygen during his hospital stay, only repeating over and over again that Trump is not receiving oxygen at the moment.
“The president is not getting oxygen right now,” said one of the other doctors, Dr. Dooley.
Doctors also did not want to confirm an exact timeline of when the president started showing symptoms or when he may have been infected.
At first Colney said that the president had had symptoms for 72 hours, that is, longer than he said at first, but in a press release after the press conference, the doctor writes that he said wrong, and thought they were in the third day.
– It is not an approved drug
– Exceptionally good courage
– He’s exceptionally good at bravery, says Dooley, who also says Trump early Saturday should have said he felt healthy enough to be able to leave the hospital today.
Before being transferred, the president received, among other things, a dose of an experimental drug, which has not yet been approved. The drug is intended to help against the virus. On Saturday he is also said to have received another drug, called Remdesivir, in addition to the other drug he received.
Doctors will say nothing about when the president can be discharged from the hospital.
