Police were notified that a tractor had crossed the ice on the night of Losna as of Tuesday at 01.18.

Losna is part of the Gudbrandsdalslågen river in Tretten, south of Gudbrandsdalen. In this area, Lågen is so wide and flows so slowly that the part is considered a lake.

– There were two tractors plowing the ice there in connection with an ice rink that tends to be there, operations manager Hågen Løvseth in Innlandet police district tells NRK.

Down 8-10 meters

The two tractors are said to have been about 60 meters off the ground in the lake when one saw the other tractor fall.

– The tractor lowered from 8 to 10 meters, says Løvseth.

Firefighters finally arrived at the scene and pulled the person out of the water.

The person, who was under water for a relatively long time, received first aid that saved his life on the spot.

Later, the person was transferred to the hospital.

– Now we do not have the status of the person in question, says Løvseth.
