– Traces of another plantation have been found, says police lawyer Berit Voxen.

At the end of August, the police discovered a cannabis plantation in Bjelland, Lindesnes.

It was during the investigation of this case that the police went on the trail of the other plantation.

The house in question is located in the village of Kvås in the municipality of Lyngdal. NRK has spoken with several of the neighbors who assure that the police have investigated the place in the last days.

NRK has been unable to contact the owner. The landlord does not pay in the case.

Neighbors say they are suspicious of activity at the house. A person NRK has spoken to says the police were already notified this spring.

Arrested

– A person is in custody as a result of discovery. Police see these two cases in context, he says.

The police are very scarce with information and do not want to comment on details.

– It is a plantation that is no longer there. But traces have been found that indicate that there has been a plantation there, emphasizes Voxen.

The man is 40 years old. The police won’t say where the man came from. He is imprisoned for risk of loss of evidence and danger of evasion. It will have no connection to Norway.

The man’s defender, Lars Faye Ree, will not comment on the case at this time.

In the Bjelland case, two people had already been charged and placed in preventive detention. A third person was released, but is still charged in the case.

Does not exclude further arrests

The police do not rule out that there may be more arrests.

– I cannot say anything about the findings we have made and what it leads to. But I can’t rule out more arrests. At the moment, only he is detained, says Voxen.

In an interview with the Lindesnes newspaper early Wednesday, the police attorney said those arrested may be part of a larger network.

“There are many indications that those arrested are part of a larger network,” he said.
