Today it emerged that the Christian Democrats will support a possible Left Party proposal because they distrust the Löfven government.
I do not agree with the labor legislation
The Left Party (V), which is SV’s sister party in Sweden, has threatened a vote of no confidence against the government, and the background relates to a report on changes in labor legislation.
But the road until today has seemed long. To get a vote, you need the support of at least one party, and this is what the Christian Democrats (KD) are now willing to give.
– That is what we have promised the voters. We are the alternative for all who want to be sure that we do what we can to give Sweden a new government, says KD leader Ebba Busch.
Minority government
After the 2018 elections, Sweden went through a long government crisis, where the country was without top leadership for 131 days. Now Sweden can fall back into a new crisis.
Löfven currently leads a minority government made up of the Social Democrats and the Green Party. The largest opposition party, the moderates, was long against the vote of no confidence, but today the party’s leader, Ulf Kristersson, walked around five times and supports the proposal, writes Aftonbladet.
Busch believes that, therefore, the opportunity exists to overthrow the government in the midst of a corona pandemic.
– It is well known that the moderates want a new government. Exactly how they want to achieve that, they have to answer for it, she says.
Swedish Democrats must also unite if there is to be a majority of censorship.
Now the next days and weeks will be decisive, writes SVT in a political analysis of the situation.
