Total internal fight at Folkeaksjonen national meeting no more tolls – NRK Norway – Summary of news from different parts of the country

Frode Myrhol is the founder and leader of FNB. Now the adventure as the leader of the group may be to face Myrhol. At this weekend’s national meeting, a majority on the party’s nominating committee is in favor of rejecting Myrhol in favor of Cecilie Lyngby of Oslo.

The majority recommendation, three out of five committee members, will have Cecilie Lyngby as chair and Myrhol as vice chair.

The minority on the committee, two out of five members, wants Myrhol as chair and Lyngby as vice chair.

Threatens to resign from the central board

Myrhol says he is surprised and critical of the process surrounding Lyngby’s nomination as leader.

He also says that it is completely inappropriate to sit on the central board if he is not re-elected as leader.

– If I’m not the leader on Monday morning, then I live very well with that. So the party has made a decision that means that I will not be part of the leadership. I will not sit at the center table if it is not as a leader. I’ve been nominated as the deputy majority leader, but that’s irrelevant to me, Myrhol says.

He says he was not told Lyngby was canceled until Tuesday this week.

– If you want a discussion on leadership, I hope it is an open process.

Could the battle for leadership have something to do with you and your leadership style?

– No way. No one has a more open and inclusive leadership style than me, says Myrhol.

Lyngby confirms she is ready for the leadership role

Cecilie Lyngby tells NRK that the dispute is not about removing Myrhol, but about how to build and further develop FNB.

– I take the glove and accept the challenge if I am chosen. If I am not elected, Frode (Myrhol, editor’s note) will continue and I will most likely become vice president. My motto is to listen to the people and listen to the members, and then it is the majority who decides, Lyngby tells NRK.

The leadership election at FNB is scheduled for Sunday.
