Torpet winner Karianne Vilde reveals that the production intervened:

For the third year in a row, Torpet has been a parallel competition to Farmen, which airs on TV 2 Sumo. At the small farm, defeated Farmen participants and Farmen participants from previous seasons are fighting for a chance to return to the farm.

This year, however, was the first time that the three Torpet finalists were allowed to enter Farmen’s farm and complete the Torpet final in front of the other contestants inside.

On Wednesday’s episode of The Farm, Mathias Scott Pascual (28), Karianne Amlie Wahlstrøm (29) and Karianne Vilde Wølner (26) found themselves in an obstacle course of knowledge.

– delicious

After a very close and stressful competition, it was finally Torpet’s last contestant, Karianne Vilde Wølner (26), who took the victory.

Wølner, who actually left the Farm smoking a week and a half ago, became a full member of the Farm tenants again.

– It was the most delicious sensation. It’s almost hard to describe, because it was such a crazy feeling to be back on the farm again, says Wølner by phone to TV 2.

Bitter and disappointing

The other two Torpet finalists, Mathias Scott Pascual (28) and Karianne Amlie Wahlstrøm (29), who had been on the farm for a full eight weeks, had to travel home in 2020.

– Smoking now so close to the goal, I feel like it’s a bit bitter. I was incredibly close to winning Torpet in the end. Karianne Vilde was right in front of me and sadly I didn’t make it to the finish. But I’m still very grateful for the trip I’ve had, Pascual tells TV 2 right after the finale ends.

– When I joined Farmen in 2017, I participated for the sake of the experience. Now I participated in the competition and innmari wanted to win Torpet 2020, says a disappointed Wahlstrøm to TV 2.

She realizes why she lost.

– I smoke because I’m in bad shape. I answered a lot of the knowledge questions correctly, but I was a little slower than everyone else and I have to go home and train, he laughs.

Made a quick “comeback”

Wølner’s stay in Torpet wasn’t exactly long. The 26-year-old from Drammen entered Torpet after losing a knowledge duel against his best friend Karianne Kopperstad (27) inside the Farm.

A few days after his arrival, Wølner knocked out “member of the trio” Olav Harald Ulstein (58) in a duel. After that, it wasn’t long before the three Torpet finalists received the good news that all three were allowed to enter the Farm to complete the final match there.

– He was so focused that he went back to the farm when he was in Torpet, he shouldn’t think about home. The others started thinking about home and relaxing, but I never let my guard down because I was so focused that I should be able to do this, explains Wølner.

– The plan worked

The 26-year-old says that the joy of returning to the farm was great because of one thing. The reason she ended up in a fight against her best friend in the first place was the choice of then-great farmer, Inger Cecilie Grønnerød (47).

When this choice became known, the friends made a plan together with the participant Daniel Viem Årdal (31). The point of the plan was that Grønnerød would have to go home the following week, while the hope was that whoever lost the duel would win Torpet and return to the farm.

Claiming that Inger Cecilie secretly broke Farmen’s deal

Wølner admits that therefore his heart rate was very high when he arrived at the farm with the other two Torpet participants to surprise the others and show that the plan he made with Kopperstad and Årdal turned out as expected.

– I was completely in a hundred and I wanted so much to surprise everyone and finally be able to be with them again for a few days. She was so eager to tell others about Torpet and so excited about what they would have done a whole week without me, she says and elaborates:

– I had palpitations when I stood up and waited, because that’s when Karianne and IC had their fight. It was so sick to think that the plan was going from one point to another. Karianne won the match and I came back. The plan couldn’t have gone better, he says forcefully.

“Sindre School”

The three finalists from Torpet were allowed to stay at Farmen for four days before the final match was held. During this period, Wølner managed to acquire a lot of knowledge of the farm book, also with the help of the participant Sindre Nyeng (23), something for which she is very grateful afterwards.

– Sindre and I got up before everyone else and practiced on the farm book. He asked me different questions and then I had to answer, so we had a proper “Sindre school” for four days, he says and says that many of the topics he had practiced appeared as questions in the final match.

– many lies

The royal stay in Torpet made Wølner share feelings. On the show you can see the trio wondering why the 26-year-old doesn’t seem interested in meeting them. Now she explains why.

– I didn’t really know anything about Torpet before I got there, and I was very surprised that there was no one from my farm there. I thought the three strangers hadn’t been there for the seven weeks and I didn’t want to believe anything they were saying, because there were only new lies upon lies. They lied about everything and did not want to tell what they had for food, for example, he says.

– So, I didn’t want to spend time and energy that something could be a new lie, but rather bite my teeth and focus on myself and everything I had to learn from the farm book. I didn’t have time to read inside the Farm, so I had to spend that time there, because I knew there would soon be an end in Torpet, he adds.

Wahlstrøm admits that he understands Wølner well afterwards.

– We fooled her a bit at first, so I understand very well that Karianne Vilde didn’t bother to be super interested in us, she says.

– After Olav left, Mathias and I stood with our hats in our hands and we apologized because we had lied. But we did it because we were terrified that he might knock out one of us. And she succeeded, so we saw her very quickly as a full member of Torpet, Wahlstrøm explains to TV 2 after the recording.

Had to involve production

At one point, Wølner decided to talk about production, as Pascual and Wahlstrøm had hidden the farm book from him for several days inside the Torpet farm.

– After four days, I said goodbye to the production and demanded that the book be returned to me, because I thought I should have the opportunity to read it in Torpet when I have not had the opportunity inside the Farm, says Wølner.

The other two Torpet participants hid it to gain an advantage in the competition.

– We hid the farm book because we thought Karianne Vilde would sit down and read it up and down in her mind, if she had it in front of her. There was so little else to do there compared to what she was used to doing at the Farm. So it was simply a threat to our existence in Torpet if it loomed, Wahlstrøm explains.

Farmen’s press officer on TV 2, Alex Iversen, confirms that the production eventually had to step in to get the two contestants to find the book they had hidden from Wølner.

– It is true that Karianne and Mathias hid the farm book and blame Olav Harald for Karianne Vilde. The production told Mathias and Karianne to find the farm book again, as it belongs to Torpet and will be available to everyone there, Iversen tells TV 2.

– Deserved to win

Despite the lies and deception, the three of them have become good friends afterward.

– It changed gradually, and we were there for a week and got much better contact than I had planned. I had really planned on living and concentrating on the farm book. But we became good friends and had a great week, says Wølner.

Both Wahlstrøm and Pascual tell TV 2 that they are giving the victory to Wølner, even though they would like to win themselves.

– Karianne Vilde is a very nice girl. He clearly deserved to beat Torpet, he gave everything, he lives this adventure and perhaps it was the one that he missed his home the least. So I really give Karianne Vilde the win, and it will be very exciting to follow her further and see how far she goes, says Pascual.

– He definitely deserved to win because he worked hard. She has been expelled from the Farm, entered the Torpet and then re-entered the Farm. He has been in fights and has a crazy desire to be on the Farm. It was also the best in the Torpet final, so well deserved for her, says Wahlstrøm.

After Wølner became a full member of the Farmen farm again, there are now eight participants left at the Samsjø farm. In just over two weeks, one of them will be named the winner of Farmen 2020.
