The case is being updated.

This was stated by the municipality of Trondheim in a press release on Tuesday morning.

All three have mild disease courses.

Those infected are:

  • An adult, the site of infection has not yet been clarified.
  • An adult, close contact with known infected
  • An adult, infected in red soil.

40 quarantined

Elizabeth Kimbell, acting municipal chief physician in Trondheim, tells Adresseavisen that the municipality is now mapping the person’s employment status, time off and living conditions.

– We have not yet found a reliable source of infection. But the survey is ongoing, he says.

In addition, he says that they have identified several people who have had close contact with the infected person and therefore have been at risk of becoming infected. These have been quarantined and will be tested.

– In total for the three positive cases on Monday, so far about 40 people have been quarantined, says Kimbell.

Increasing trend of infection

In the last 24 hours, 837 people have been tested, of which 56 through mobile test stations. The municipality received 845 inquiries through the Internet, of which 63 were from students.

91 people are now waiting for the class to try.

Trondheim is one of the municipalities in the country that now has an increasing tendency to infection. Kimbell explains that this is due to the fact that Trondheim has had low infection rates in the last three weeks, and that an increase of a few people per week will be more visible in the numbers.

– The vast majority of cases of infection can be related to travel abroad or close contact with known infections and are cases of infection that we should expect to have when society is as open as it is now. But when we become infected and cannot immediately trace a site of infection, we spend a lot of resources mapping and searching for a possible source of infection. This work is ongoing now, she says.
