The two most important men have been sentenced to two and a half years in prison, two years and three months respectively. The third man, charged with simple corruption, has been sentenced to 75 days in prison, Nationen writes.

The defenders of the accused requested the acquittal of the three.

The background to the case is that in the spring of 2016, NOK 350,000 were transferred from a company that is a Nortura customer to a 57-year-old man who was a sales manager at the Norwegian meat giant.

Two years later, the alleged loan was forgiven, according to the indictment. Almost immediately thereafter, according to the indictment, the sales manager entered into a new agreement with his counterpart with the Nortura client, this time for the transfer of an additional half a million crowns.

Økokrim, on the other hand, believes that the client’s company received undue benefits of NOK 1 million. The company has been sentenced in the district court to pay NOK 3.6 million.

Nortura was not a suspect in the case.
