Three injured in blast – bomb squad on site

LAST: Police are informed that the person who was sent to Ullevål is seriously injured, without further details being known to us. One has been released with minor injuries and the system is still hospitalized at Drammen hospital. We do not know his status, the police report at 0640.

At 01.11 on Saturday night, the Sør-Øst police were notified that three people were injured in an explosion in the Øvre Eiker municipality.

– Everything now indicates that there are accidents with fireworks, the police wrote to 03.

One of the injured has been sent to Ullevål Hospital in Oslo, but according to police, the extent of the damage to all three is unclear.

Operations leader Ottar Steinstø tells Dagbladet that it is about a man in his 20s and two men in his 30s.

The bomb squad moved from Oslo to help and is now on site.

Steinstø says police believe this should be a fireworks accident, but they are not sure yet.

– The bomb squad can help us clarify what happened there, says Steinstø.

According to Drammens Tidende, the police have cordoned off a larger area.

Steinstø tells the newspaper that there is no reason to believe that there is a danger of further explosions, but that the police are not ruling out anything.
