One of the greatest Norwegian ski stars of all time had to settle for a podium position after a duel with TV 2’s Mars Bratberg, who burst into tears as he continued.

– I didn’t believe what I heard, there were so many emotions at once, Bratberg tells VG, after most of the tears have dried.

Four dance participants were reduced to three on TV 2 on Saturday night. Alsgaard produced the shorter straw.

– I think this was well deserved and a very good result, said the ski veteran when the result was ready and fourth place was a fact.

– I have been able to participate in a journey much further than I could dare to dream, Alsgaard admitted.

– It was very difficult and I would have had a very bad conscience if I was the one to continue!

Thus, it will be the semifinals of Marte Bratberg, Nate Kahungu and Andreas Wahl next weekend.

Fight fear

It was a dance duel between Alsgaard and Bratberg, and she could cheer for at least one more last night. It was Alsgaard’s first duel.

He tells VG that “Skal vi danse” has not been a dance competition for him.

– The fight along the way has been against my fears and against me, and in that sense this is a great victory for me, says Alsgaard.

After the first dance, he received praise from the judges, including for an open look and a smile instead.

– Today I cost myself, I was on the positive side, and it was the first time. The three remaining now are good at dancing, on a completely different level than I can show on broadcasts, and then this is very fair. There is not a single calorie in my body that regrets this.

Alsgaard now promises not to use a ton of what he has learned in recent months.

– I think I put the dance shoes on the shelf, laughs.

All four judges said they thought Bratberg fared better in the match.

– If they had asked me, I would have said the same, I would also have had Mars, says Alsgaard.

– The most handsome in Norway

The new profile “Good evening Norway” brought tears to mind when the breakthrough became apparent.

– I thought it was impossible to beat Thomas, says Bratberg.

– He is the most handsome ski hero in Norway, with a heart of gold. And then I fell so much in love with him that I was sorry to lose him. A few tears to go on, and right in front of me sat mom and dad, so there were a lot of emotions at once.

– Who from “Goodnight Norway” will interview you if you win?

– Hahaha! It must be Niklas Baarli.

Last Saturday it was Michael Andreassen who left the competition.

On tonight’s show, Thomas Alsgaard and his dance partner Rikke Lund danced salsa and rumba, with a limited score from the judges, 29 and 30 points respectively.

Nate Kahungu and his dance partner Helene Spilling grappled with fast pacing and Argentine tango, earning 34 and 40 reward points from the pros. It was Kahungu’s second “full score” for the season.

Andreas Wahl and his dance partner Mai Mentzoni took the judges’ best score of the night, with two 38 points for their salsa and Viennese waltz efforts.

Marte Bratberg and his dance partner Benjamin Jayakoddy balanced with Argentine tango and quickstep, with 38 and 34 points in triumph.
