– I don’t mean that Joe Biden is boring, because I’ve met him, and he’s a warm, generous and personable person with a strong commitment, Prime Minister Erna Solberg said at a press conference about the new US president on Sunday.
Around the same time, the people of the United States are waking up to newspaper covers full of Biden’s face.
In Boston, the 50,000 who usually buy the Sunday edition of the Boston Herald, one of America’s oldest dailies, are given the headline “Ready, Set, Joe!” on the front.
At the same time, the award-winning Chicago Sun-Times newspaper keeps up with the fun headline “It’s Joe Time.”
And the title “It’s Joe Time” is popular. It’s the same title that Donald Trump’s favorite newspaper, the New York Post, also landed on.
They also summarize the choice in a short paragraph. “After 144 million votes, five days of tallying and hair-raising victories in the Rust Belt states, America has finally delivered its verdict.”
Further south in the United States, specifically Houston, readers of the Houston Chronicle wake up to a front page that many of the nation’s newspapers have sworn to. The quote “Time to heal”, taken from Biden’s speech, has many of the American editors chosen to grace the cover with Sunday.
The major Washington Post and New York Times newspapers also have the same headlines on their front pages today.
“Biden beats Trump”.
