The growth of the Norwegian economy is likely to be lower than the government expected.

Trade and Industry Minister Iselin Nybø (V) establishes a comprehensive new compensation scheme that will help Norwegian companies and industry through another difficult phase of the corona pandemic.

Up to NOK 1,000 per day for guest workers

There will also be a separate NOK 300 million support plan for those hosting large events open to the public. Innovation Norway will manage this plan.

Since before, the state has already entered with a good amount of funds for quarantined hotels. Justice Minister Monica Mæland (H) said Monday that the deductible for quarantine hotels for employers is NOK 1,500 per day.

– These are measures that are absolutely necessary for us to have and control corona infection. Now we are holding the money to cut costs a bit, Nybø tells the newspaper.
