On Monday, the Oslo City Council decided that everyone traveling by tram, bus, subway, train or boat in the capital should wear a face mask if they cannot keep at least one meter away from other passengers.

The ban went into effect on Tuesday at 12 noon and lasts until October 13.

At the same time, the Minister of Health said that neighboring municipalities should do much of the same.

On Monday, Health Minister Bent Høie called on Oslo municipalities to introduce several of the same measures that the capital has taken.

– They should be coordinated. So that the inhabitants of this, which is a common region of life and work, experience that these are measurements that are connected, said Bent Høie (H) on Monday.

Some precautionary measures and some recommendations

During the week, municipalities have debated what to do and now most things are clear.

Here are the crown rules for the 19 municipalities Høie had a digital meeting with on Monday:

Municipality of Asker comes with strong recommendations, but without mandates or prohibitions:

  • bandages in public transport when a distance of one meter cannot be maintained
  • home office for anyone who can
  • do not host or attend events with more than 50 participants without a permanent seat
  • guest registration in pubs
  • home nursing masks

Aurskog-Høland commune has introduced precautionary measures and prohibitions:

  • bandage mandate in public transport when a distance of one meter cannot be maintained
  • ask licensed restaurants to register guests
  • bans indoor events with more than 50 participants without fixed seating
  • prohibits private meetings with more than 20 participants or where a distance of one meter cannot be maintained

me Municipality of Bærum The municipal council was called to a meeting on Thursday evening and adopted these rules:

  • court order on the use of bandages in public transport when it is not possible to maintain a distance of one meter from other passengers
  • Requirement that licensed liquor restaurants have a system to record contact information for guests.
  • limitation to a maximum of 50 participants in indoor events without fixed seats
  • use of masks in home nursing when you cannot keep a meter away

Municipality of Enebakk has adopted precautionary measures and prohibitions:

  • mandate for bandages in public transport when it is not possible to keep one meter away from other passengers
  • Ban on events with more than 50 participants indoors without a fixed seating location.
  • prohibition of private meetings with more than 10 participants or where a distance of one meter cannot be observed

Municipality of Frogn has adopted precautionary measures and makes calls:

  • ordering bandages in public transport where it is not possible to maintain a distance of one meter
  • encourages organizers to consult with the municipality on more important events in the future
  • encourages pubs to establish guest registration systems.

Municipality of Gjerdrum has made recommendations and encouragement:

  • recommends face masks on public transport when you can’t stay one meter away
  • ask to limit the number of close contacts
  • recommend home office if possible

Large municipality has adopted precautionary measures and prohibitions:

  • ordering bandages on public transport to and from Oslo when you can’t stay one meter away
  • ban on events with more than 50 participants without fixed seats
  • registration in discos

Hole municipality comes with tips and recommendations:

  • encourages everyone to wear a mask when using public transportation
  • travelers recommend having a home office if possible

Municipality of Lillestrøm has introduced precautionary measures and prohibitions:

Municipality of Lier has made strong recommendations:

  • strongly recommends wearing a mask on public transport on the section between Drammen-Oslo when it is not possible to maintain a distance of one meter
  • have a home office whenever possible

  • limit the number of people gathered in a private context to a maximum of 10 people

Municipality of Lunner has introduced, among other things, precautionary measures and prohibitions:

Municipality of Lørenskog introduce the same measures as Oslo:

  • ask for a bandage in public transport if it is not possible to keep one meter away from other passengers

Municipality of Nesodden has adopted precautionary measures and prohibitions:

  • mandate for bandages in public transport when it is not possible to keep one meter away from other passengers
  • a ban on more than 50 people from gathering for public events indoors if there are no fixed seats

Municipality of Nittedal has introduced precautionary measures and prohibitions:

  • you are encouraged to avoid the use of public transport
  • Mandate bandages in public transport when it is not possible to keep one meter away from other passengers
  • Prohibit the presence of more than 50 participants at the same time when the event is indoors and there are no fixed seats.

Municipality of Nordre Follo has introduced precautionary measures and prohibitions:

  • Ban on events with more than 50 participants indoors without a fixed seating location.

Municipality of Rælingen has adopted precautionary measures and prohibitions:

  • ask for bandages in public transport when it is not possible to maintain a distance of one meter with fellow travelers, travelers

  • Events with more than 50 participants present at the same time are not allowed when the event is indoors and there are no fixed seats.

Vestby Township evaluates court orders and prohibitions:

  • are considering banning indoor events for more than 50 people if there are no seats

Municipality of Ås has entered orders and recommendations:

  • Restaurants are encouraged to register guests with table service.

These are the measures in Oslo:

  • Forcing the use of bandages in public transport when it is not possible to maintain a distance of one meter.
