The search on the ground continues on Saturday
On Friday, ground crews were dispatched for the first time to search the area for landslides. At around 5.30pm on Friday, they ended the operation because it was getting dark.
– Ground crews within the area require a higher degree of security and different monitoring of the landslide area, explained task leader Roger Pettersen at 6.30pm on Friday night.
He notes that it is difficult to ensure the safety of rescuers when it is dark outside.
Overnight through Saturday, the rescue team will search through drones and heat search cameras from the air.
Police have made it clear from the start that they are looking for survivors, not dead.
Tonight, time is used for planning, so that rescue teams are ready tomorrow morning to begin the search when the light comes.
They will then search a larger area within the landslide area, task leader Roger Pettersen told NRK Dagsrevyen on Friday night.
