These are the measurements – VG

The Bergen City Council unveiled new crown measures Thursday. On Friday, they push even more.

– The numbers are increasing very fast despite the measures we have. We have no choice but to take relatively drastic action now, says Councilor Roger Valhammer during Friday’s press conference.

These measures are now being introduced in Bergen:

  • Gyms, sports halls and swimming pools must be kept closed. The provision also includes individual physical training. The provision for sports halls and swimming pools does not apply to organized training for children and young people or teaching to children and young people under the age of 20 or training related to rehabilitation or illness.
  • Training for children and young people under 20 years of age can be held, but events such as matches, cups, tournaments and the like are not allowed.
  • Bingo halls, museums, and similar offerings must be closed.
  • The libraries will be closed for activities and stays, but there will be access to loans and shipments.
  • Events in public places must have permanent seating and are not allowed with more than 20 participants present. This applies to both public and private events in public places. Funerals are exempt from this rule. There can be up to 50 people.
  • Non-seating events are prohibited.
  • Mandatory with bandage for both the driver and the passengers of the taxi.
  • Pubs, restaurants, cafes, canteens and other restaurants must close no later than 22.00, and the discharge stops from kl. 21.30. The provision does not apply to take out places.
  • Stores, shopping centers and the like must ensure that there are no more present on the premises than can be kept within 2 meters. The allowed number of guests in the room is calculated based on the size of the room. If necessary, there will be security guards to ensure that the requirement is met.

First, the Bergen Municipality announced that the provision on the closure of gyms, sports halls and swimming pools does not include individual physical training. Subsequently, the municipality proposed a correction: there are no exceptions for individual physical training. The exception only applies to organized training for children and young people, teaching to children and young people under the age of 20, or training related to rehabilitation or illness.

– It is important now, like other measures, that we have little mobility and travel less. In the coming weeks, we must stay home and limit who we have contact with. Think about the kinds of plans we have and limit who we meet with, says Valhammer.

The measures will be applied from Saturday, November 7. Initially, the regulations will apply until Monday, November 23.

– If we can stop a second wave, society can reopen faster. If we succeed, there is hope for normality in winter and celebrating Christmas in a somewhat normal way, says the town hall leader.

The following measures were introduced on Thursday:

  • The number of people who can attend private meetings is reduced from 10 to 5 people, including those who live at home. Exceptions for families living together more than five, as well as exceptions for cohorts for children in kindergarten and elementary school.
  • Mandatory home office for anyone who can have a home office.
  • Mandate for digital teaching in colleges and universities.
  • Red level and homeschooling in public high schools and independent schools.
  • Broad-based sports for over 20s, closed. Similarly, other adult leisure activities such as choir and body training will not be allowed.

New infection record

In the last 24 hours, 103 new cases of infection have been registered, which is the highest number of cases of infection registered in a single day.

– Reporting once again on record infections is heavy and does not lessen concern. It’s very disturbing with a growing trend, says health advisor Beate Husa.

There are eight different nursing homes that are handling an infection situation at the moment, the health council states. It mainly applies that one or more employees are infected and the residents are quarantined.

On Thursday, the government presented more national crown measures. The measures that have now been introduced in Bergen are on the government’s list of measures that they believe highly infected regions should consider introducing.
