The defendant had a blood alcohol level of 2.75, the prosecutor stated when the case began in the Sør-Trøndelag District Court on Monday.

The telephone call that the defendant made to her sister, made her notify the police that something serious could have happened in Lademoen’s apartment on Sunday, October 27.

When the ambulance arrived, resuscitation was attempted. But Cathrine Sand, 39, was bleeding completely after the stab in the chest.

A third person who was present in the apartment was also charged with murder. The investigation and its explanation led the police to conclude after a quarter of an hour that only the accused were involved.

The 39-year-old will be an important witness for the prosecution when explaining the case Tuesday. He has said that he saw the defendant stab the woman with a knife while she was lying on the sofa.

As his health condition is poor, a video court hearing has been held in case he is unable to appear before the Sør-Trøndelag District Court on Tuesday. The prosecutor claimed that the witness was detained on Sunday evening to ensure that he would appear in court on Tuesday.

– There is a dead lady lying on my floor

The defendant was called by the police shortly after receiving a warning from his sister. The conversation lasted just over seven minutes and was played on the court on Monday. Here the defendant says he has been on a “pub crawl”. When he gets home, he says after a quarter of an hour that he has found Cathrine on the floor.

– There is a dead lady in my apartment, says the accused.

The VET center is also connected to the call. When asked how the woman lies, the accused responds:

“Right now. Kolles ska æ explains d. When I found her I was completely extreme and such, so I threw her on the floor and stuff, so the table and the chair and everything was covered»

Knife with DNA of the deceased found in the sink

The prosecutor, State Attorney Jarle Wikdahl, stated at the introductory lecture that the blood on a knife in the sink contained DNA from the deceased.

– We think it is probably the murder weapon, Wikdahl tells NRK.

The defendant and the deceased were dating and the woman lived partially in the apartment.

The 47-year-old was under mandatory mental health care after a 2016 Stavanger verdict.

There he set fire to two houses and the court ruled that lives could have been lost. When he was transferred to Trondheim in March 2017, it was St. Olav Hospital that treated him for schizophrenia. After a quarter of an hour, the therapists thought that he could live in the municipal apartment with drug monitoring and control.

After the murder, several neighbors recounted the conditions in the apartment, where there was often a party and many people present.

Stop taking antipsychotic medications on the advice of your therapists.

During the summer of 2017, the defendant stopped taking antipsychotics on the advice of therapists. It arises from the verdict of the Sør-Trøndelag District Court in January this year. Stavanger’s sentence on forced treatment was expanded. Forensic psychiatry experts thought the man was psychotic.

Two months before the murder, at 2.75 per thousand, the defendant was driving a car despite being almost blind. It crashed into a construction site. The police dropped the case because the defendant was not criminal enough.

The Norwegian Board of Health Supervision is investigating how he was followed by St. Olav Hospital and Trondheim Municipality before the murder.

“The processing of this case has taken so long because we had to change social workers along the way and also had to gather more information. We apologize for the long processing time.” Mona Kaasa, acting director of the department of the Norwegian Board of Health Supervision, writes to NRK.

Accused in bad mental form

The defendants did not plead guilty when the trial began Monday. It will be explained after the prosecutor has finished.

– The defendant will at least try to explain himself in court, but his mental state is pretty bad, defense lawyer Tore Angen tells NRK.

During the presentation to the prosecutor, the defendant asked for a break.

When the court was seen again after fifteen minutes, the defense attorney stated that the defendant does not receive anything of what happens in court. When asked why by Judge Ingvild Skaar, the accused replied in one word:

– Anguish.

The defendant failed to sound the extended sentence on mental health care at the Brøset security department in Trondheim.

The prosecutor already announced in the indictment that he will file a claim for sentence number three on mandatory mental health care if the defendant is convicted.

From an infection control point of view, the press and the public have no access to the courtroom and are therefore following the case digitally.
