– It’s a chaotic situation, says service meteorologist Lars Andreas Selberg in Vervarslinga, western Norway.

Talk about the weather today and the next few days. Low pressure hums in the sea and constantly provides new precipitation fronts above us, followed by strong winds from the south.

The weather forecast in western Norway has been updated to a yellow hazard level for high water levels on Sunday night, Monday morning and from midnight to Tuesday.

The water will rise 25-40 cm above the heights indicated in the tide table and the highest will be on Monday, reports the Mapping Authority.

– We recommend double checking the lashings and securing loose objects, says the meteorologist.

The reason for the extra strong tide is a combination of a new moon and strong south wind. Causes an accumulation of water.

The next few days will be characterized by constantly new fronts with rainfall and wind. Today and the first part of Monday, the force of the wind can arise in a strong gale in exposed places of the coast and in the mountains.

Hope for the next weekend

But the climate is not without its bright spots.

– The next few hours we have a small crack between fronts, before it starts to rain again tonight. Early Monday we have a new break, says Selberg.

– So the best advice for Sunday is to go out before the rain returns?

– Yes, it sounds like good advice.

Wednesday will be very wet, but on Thursday there may be a change. A low pressure passes into the North Sea and establishes a flow of air to the north. Then the sky clears. Friday seems fine. Maybe the good weather will last a few more days.

– It may look like we’ll have a high-pressure build-up and stick around next weekend, says Selberg, before adding:

– It is far ahead and it is still uncertain, and it is questionable if it will last that long.
