Since the beginning of November, there have been local crown measures in Bergen. The city was then one of the most contagious cities in the country. Over several days, there were more than 100 infections in the city.

Now, instead, the infection has subsided in the capital of western Norway. On Friday, Councilor Roger Valhammer (Labor Party) was able to report five new infections in the city. On Thursday, the number was eight.

The fact that local regulations are repealed indicates, among other things, that you will be allowed:

  • train together with other atts and play broad sports
  • engaged in amateur culture, such as choirs and choirs
  • pour alcohol until 00:00, instead of 22:30
  • take a taxi without a mask, as long as it is one meter away
  • take public transport without a mouthpiece if you can keep a distance of one meter
  • being in an indoor public place without a mask, if a distance of one meter can be maintained
  • see 200 people at indoor public events if everyone has fixed seating

– When Bergen has a lower infection pressure and good testability, the professional judgment is that there is no reason to have stricter rules than the national ones, says health adviser Beate Husa (KrF).

Has reached important intermediate goals

A manager of medical professionals in Bergen, he believes the city has reached an important sub-goal in managing a pandemic.

– Since a particularly alarming week of infection a few weeks ago, the trend has been reversed. We have had moderate infection rates, says medical director Trond Egil Hansen.

The most severe measures were in November. Two weeks ago, the relaxation of the rules began in Bergen. Then it was allowed, among other things, to gather ten people in private meetings to.

The pandemic is not over

Hansen cautions that the pandemic is not over.

– The climb can be long and demanding, but we are lucky, it can be moderate. It is related to compliance with general infection control regulations.

Hansen is especially concerned about the chorus. Many have previously been seen to become infected while singing with others.

Valhammer also fears that the number of infections will increase after Christmas.

– We risk getting infected through Christmas celebrations. But right now there is no reason to have stricter rules than the national ones, says the municipal council leader.
