In a resolution motion tabled at the national meeting, the resolution committee originally endorsed a point on reducing the Norwegian property tax, including by removing the wealth tax on working capital.

But at the national meeting, Vestland Høyre put forward a proposal to change this and eliminate the estate tax entirely.

That change received a majority at the national meeting.

The change amounts to billions of tax dollars of difference.

Figures from Statistics Norway (SSB) show that the wealth tax amounted to almost NOK 15 billion in 2018.
