However, Saudi Arabia flatly denies that the country’s crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, met with the Israeli prime minister on Sunday night. The Secretary of State of the United States, Mike Pompeo, is also said to have been present.

– No such meeting was ever held. The only people present were Americans and Saudis, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan wrote on Twitter. Netanyahu himself says he will neither confirm nor deny that the meeting took place.

So why is it so important for Saudi Arabia to deny a meeting with the Israeli prime minister? In short, because it is gunpowder.
