Filming was stopped for 24 hours after a series of incidents involving drunkenness, alcohol smuggling, nights out, phone loans and general crown violations. – We are disappointed, says TV 2.

So far, there has been a lot of drama on “The Farm” this fall, but this week the drama reaches new heights as seven contestants cool off from repeatedly leaving the farm and searching for other people nearby.

And it was when one of the participants, Raymond Røskeland (36), entered the courtyard drunk in broad daylight that both TV 2 and Strix production company must have realized that there had been illegalities during the recording.

Raymond stumbled on the patio in the middle of the day, he was so drunk he didn’t understand anything. The production was shocked and cursed. That’s when it really took off completely, participant Nils Kvalvik (39) tells VG.

Did you bring it with you? TV 2 revealed a new farmer during ad break

– I was the breeze, okay. But for me to fall on the patio, that’s completely wrong. There is a big difference between falling and being the breeze. Besides, it wasn’t me who stumbled into the yard. In fact, it happened the night before, when two people stumbled in and were caught by the guard as they came ashore from the ship, Røskeland counters.

Nils Kvalvik admits to VG that it was he and participant Daniel Viem Årdal (30) who were discovered by a guard the day before, when they “sailed well” returned from a 70-year-old team the day before.

Did you get this with you? “Farmen” contestant Sanna Khursheed reacted to the clip, which was never shown on television:

They were all questioned

In previous seasons of “Farmen”, several examples of contestants breaking the rules have been seen in a similar way. But according to what VG understands, it was the situation around the coronavirus that made the television production choose this time to crack down on what the suspects had done.

The episode prompted a questioning of everyone, while production was halted for 24 hours. All the participants were finally crowned.

– In hindsight, of course it’s completely understandable, but we didn’t understand it at the time. We did not understand how dire the crown’s situation was abroad, says Kvalvik.

As VG has previously mentioned, the 39-year-old “Farmen” contestant was informed shortly before that his uncle had died. According to him, he was at his uncle’s funeral when the episode with Røskeland happened.

– When I returned, I met Kjetil (Kirk, 27, journal. Note) at the door. He said Raymond was drinking. I took Raymond down and tried to revive him. But he wasn’t talkative at the time. Afterward, the entire boss ballet came in and interviewed the entire gang to find out what had happened.

It ended in the 70s

In conversations with the participants, it was revealed that seven of the participants in various cases must have left the farm and looked for other people in the area. The trips must have brought with them access to alcohol, food, snacks, as well as the use of mobile phones.

Nils Kvalvik himself, along with Daniel Viem Årdal (30), a little earlier have sought out the aforementioned 70-year-old team, where they were lined up with brandy and other alcoholic beverages.

SHOULD HAVE BEEN FULL: Raymond Røskeland is said to have gotten drunk from television tapes in the middle of the day, causing the production to feel owls in the moss. Photo: Espen Solli

– We were reasonably reserved, admits Kvalvik, who admits that during the visit Daniel borrowed a telephone and called his mother at home, while he himself also called the partner at home to ask her to tip 500 kroner for a bottle of whiskey and a bottle of Jägermeister. , which they brought from the tour.

– Daniel called his mother yes, but he got goose bumps. Because we had broken the rules. It was a short conversation. I was also reasonably silent.

According to the participant of “Farmen”, the drinks must have been hidden on an island near the farm. And it was these bottles that Røskeland is said to have found and delivered in the middle of the bright day. It is also confirmed to VG.

Lene Egeland Hogstad from “The Farm”: – He kicked my “ass” from the TV production

– They told me that they had drunk some alcohol and Nils wanted everyone to share this drink. Then I heard that Sindre and Daniel were planning to steal the alcohol, so I rowed with two others and found it.

– Full? I fell asleep

– Did it have major consequences, Raymond?

– I don’t know if it had such great consequences, because the consequences had already arrived. Because when Nils got home the night before, he himself looked out of a window. Everyone understood and the guards saw what happened. I don’t want to say I was decisive, but that was perhaps the icing on the cake, he thinks.

TAKE IT EASY: Karianne Vilde Wølner shouldn’t have been among the seven who sneaked into the twilight and darkness of the night while filming “Farmen.” Photo: Espen Solli

– Do several participants think that he was very intoxicated?

– Full? I fell asleep. Next to the wall of the house. It was probably a good combination of alcohol and little sleep. I don’t mean to say it was “dritings.” I remember well walking from the boat to the house. But then I started to get ugly, because I had not eaten much and had ingested a lot of liquor.

TV 2 show director Kathrine Haldorsen explains the drama this way:

– We suspect that some of the contestants had been in contact with strangers at the beginning of the fourth week of production. Based on the information we had at the time, it was decided to stop production. At the same time, they were strictly informed that a prerequisite for restarting production was that they put all the cards on the table, so we received the information we needed to assess how much risk they had exposed themselves and the production to. And what measures should we implement, he says.

“The Farm” -Sindre: To the hospital after an accident shortly before filming – hid the damage on TV 2

– Really drunk

She continues:

– What we revealed in individual conversations with the participants was that seven of them in four different cases had broken the rules for infection control. They said they had kept their distance, but had received food and drink, and had borrowed phones from strangers. These incidents took place between August 6 and 12.

Following the advice of the municipal doctor and the implementation of new infection control measures, production was resumed after 24 hours.

– There was no contagion in the region at this time, and with the reinforced measures that were implemented, the municipal doctor considered it prudent to start over. All the participants were also subjected to corona tests, the responses to the tests came back negative on August 19, Haldorsen explains.

Karianne Vilde Wølner (26) was one of the few who did not participate in the repeated excursions. She believes it was when Røskeland arrived drunk to shoot in the middle of the day that Strix and TV 2 began to wrap up what had happened.

– The great farmer went out with a mentor and then Raymond arrived. He was really drunk. Then he went to bed. And he slept all that day. After that, they began to question us and little by little they came to light. It was a sick drama, she says.

Røskeland himself, however, believes that he was not so full.

– I lay down on a bench, because I felt very tired and nauseous. Then I sat down in a chair by the window. I went to bed again because I was very dizzy. Then I fell asleep. I got up and went to bed. And he got up again at the usual dinner time, he thinks.

– What were you thinking when you woke up again?

– I think I really thought this was stupid. But done, done, I couldn’t do anything about it. But it was a form of relief. For now they had to do something about what had happened.

He didn’t feel very well in the days that followed, he admits.

– Imagine the feeling of being drunk in “La Granja”, a punishment greater than the one you cannot get. I think I was drunk for three or four days.

But: It shouldn’t just have been Nils Kvalvik and Daniel Viem Årdal who were hiking the night they ended their 70s. Four others, namely Tove Moss Lohne (35), Wiktoria Rønning (22), Kjetil Kirk and just Raymond Røskeland, are said to have been in a hut on the other side of the fjord.

Sanna Khursheed from “The Farm”: – TV 2 answers why they chose to portray me like this.

A woman in her 70s was present and had four visiting friends. They had knowledge of “La Granja” and wanted us to have a glass, he tells VG.

There and then they did not think much about the situation of the crown, he thinks.

– We lived in a bubble and received little information about developments abroad. But even if we knew little, perhaps we should think better of it.

One participant tells VG that host Mads Hansen (36) was so furious when he arrived at the farm that he “could hardly sit still.” For VG, the 36-year-old confirms that he was not very happy.

– I can say that there are very few who have seen me so strict and angry before. I was about to blow my own scale.

TV 2: – So serious that it has consequences

TV 2 program director Kathrine Haldorsen emphasizes that “Farmen” is voluntary and that no one is held there against their will. And that what happened will have consequences, something that will be broadcast on television Wednesday night.

– Production is largely based on trust between those of us who do the program and those of us who participate. Given the situation with Covid-19, we are very disappointed that some participants chose to break the rules for infection control and thus put all production in danger of being permanently shut down if someone got infected. “We perceive this breach of trust as so serious that it has consequences for them on the show,” he tells VG.

Here the participant of “Farm” is baptized on TV: – Obviously, it is not too late

– Should TV 2 have done something different here, for example strengthening the guard in light of the ongoing corona pandemic?

– It is always possible that we could have been even clearer in communication. But Strix, in collaboration with Stamina Health, had developed strict infection control rules that all crew members had to adhere to. Protecting the participants and the team from possible infection has been very important for both the production company and TV 2. We hope that the participants will remain in the farm area during the period. The farm guard is for the safety of the participants and to make sure that no unauthorized person enters the farm. Naturally, we are disappointed that some of the participants decided to break this trust.
