The driver of the car was transported to the Stavanger University Hospital, but his life could not be saved.
He was pronounced dead at the hospital on Saturday night.
The man was alone in the car when the accident occurred and is said to have been trapped before being transferred to SUS by air ambulance.
According to the police operations manager, the driver of the truck involved must have exited the collision without physical injury.
The cause of the accident is currently unknown.
