The preliminary autopsy report after the boy’s death in Trøndelag is now ready and the police believe they know the cause of death, but are still working on various hypotheses.
On Thursday 10 December, the police announced that they had received a report from the St. Olav hospital about an injured child threatening his life and launched an investigation into the possible violence.
The child under one year died the same day, six days after your first admission to the hospital.
– The preliminary autopsy report means that police now believe they know the cause of death, but for the sake of the investigation we cannot delve into this at this time, says police attorney Line Ramberg in a press release Trøndelag Police.
The boy was in the care of the child welfare service. Two caregivers the boy had recently lived with were charged with aggravated domestic violence or complicity in it and were taken into custody.
The caregivers are not the biological parents of the child, according to the Police.
Police – Charges are continually being evaluated
The woman, who has completely misunderstood the charge, appealed the prison sentence and had her custody reduced from four to two weeks. His defender Theo Dretvik has no new information on Monday morning, he tells VG.
The other defendant, a man, is in preventive detention for four weeks.

Preparation for the interrogation of the accused
Furthermore, in the press release, the police state that they plan to question the accused in the near future. The accused man and woman have not been questioned since the prison meeting.
The police will also continue the broader investigation with more witness questioning, technical investigations, review of digital devices and health records.
