The case is being updated.
Trondheim police have launched an investigation into the rape of a child said to have taken place in Heimdal in Trondheim on Friday afternoon. The police were notified at 2:40 p.m. the same day.
– We are talking about a girl who is almost six years old. A stranger stopped her and touched her on her way home from school, says police lawyer Bente Bøklepp in the Trøndelag police district. She is responsible for the prosecution in the case.
– All available resources
– We take this incident very seriously. This has happened in a residential area during the day before a child is heading home from school. We have put all available resources into the investigation, says Bøklepp in a press release that was sent out at 1.30 pm.
– He currently has no suspect status in the case. Police have launched an investigation and are now working on questioning witnesses, conducting surveys in the area and other technical investigations, he says.
– The police have no information that this is more than a single episode, and we have not been notified that others have been exposed to the same. But the author has not been arrested and, therefore, we ask for the precautionary principle. We ask parents to be a little more vigilant, continues in the press release.
Adresseavisen has contacted the principal of the school in question. The director does not want to comment on the case and refers to the police. Adresseavisen has also been informed that a message was sent in Meldeboka to the parents of the school.
