The Norwegian Ski Association continues its collaboration with Petter Northug’s company

This is stated by the association in a press release.

In August, Northug was measured at 168 kilometers per hour on the E6. He later admitted that the police had found cocaine at his home and that he had driven 200 kilometers per hour in zone 80.

– We distanced ourselves from the events and what Petter did, but Petter has meant an incredible amount to Norwegian cross-country skiing and is a person we want to support and help the most. We have received clear promises of new actions, so we have made an overall assessment of the continuation of the agreement and support for Petter, says cross-country manager Espen Bjervig on TV 2.

– What are these promises about?

– It is between the Norwegian Ski Federation and Northug AS, responds Bjervig.

In the press release, the Ski Federation writes that there is “an agreement that the same thing will not happen again.”

– What’s in the word “equivalent”?

– Corresponding type of drug use and serious trafficking offenses. We distance ourselves from that, says Bjervig.

Terje Hallan, Northug’s general manager at AS, says it’s the same contract that’s still in place.

– Of course, we are very happy that the agreement continues to move forward, says Terje Hallan.

Hallan can confirm that there are no more uncertain cooperation agreements for Northug AS now after the Ski Association’s yes to continue. The Uno-X cycling team chose early to break up the collaboration with Northug.
