– We now have the last hit of the summer before this weather coming over the weekend, says state meteorologist Tone Christin Thaule at the Meteorological Institute.
This is especially true for Trøndelag and further north. But most of us probably have to face the fact that we are moving into early fall.
Makstemperaturer
– You can no longer call it summer, we are at the beginning of autumn. This also applies to western Norway. It will be a little better in eastern Norway, although you can also take an occasional shower, but the temperatures will be better here. Probably up to 20 degrees on Friday. But then there will be gradually lower temperatures over the weekend, with perhaps as much as 16 degrees on Sunday, she says.
In western Norway it will be between 16 and 17 degrees at best, with perhaps 15 degrees highs on Saturdays and Sundays.
– If you’re lucky, says the state meteorologist.
The low pressure comes from the Norwegian Sea and will cause rain in western Norway and in the mountains. This weather will continue on Saturday, while on Sunday construction activity will slow a bit.
Multiple showers
The precipitation hits Trøndelag on Friday and at the same time gives a more unstable air further north of the country.
– It looks like there will be construction time in most of northern Norway on Friday. First in Nordland and then in the north.
Tone Christin Thaule at the Meteorological Institute warns of more rain on Saturday and low pressure is over the region also on Sunday.
For northern Norway, this weather lasts on Monday. Tuesday may be an early noon in the day, but then later there is a hint that a new weather system is coming. First in western Norway and further east and north.
Check the weather where you live
Also in the mountains
Even if temperatures drop across the country compared to the good days we’ve had the past few days, it will still be positive going forward.
– Still no danger for mountain passes. Even Finse will get higher degrees in the future. If anything white came, it would be all over the high mountains. So far, we seem to be getting plus grades everywhere, says the state meteorologist.
