Aud-Margaret Vamsæter Kogstad sat down and waited three hours in the crater, he tells VG.

Since the rapid clay landslide in Gjerdrum occurred overnight to Wednesday, several have been rescued. At the time of writing this report, 10 people are still missing. Police continue the search in hopes of finding survivors.

One of those who actually had a guardian angel was Aud-Margaret Vamsæter Kogstad (64). She tells VG that she woke up when the house shook and that she thought it was an earthquake. But suddenly, the entire wall of the house collapsed. She clung to the mattress.

Sailed down

– On my thick mattress Jensen navigate to the bottom of the avalanche. It was completely absurd, he tells the newspaper.

The slide continued as Kogstad sat down in karate. He used the mattress to build a small cave, while surrounding it.

– At one point I heard someone asking for help. Soon after, there was a huge explosion and after that I didn’t hear any more voices, she says.

The rescued dog

The online newspaper recently told the story of the Sandman family, who were rescued by helicopter from the house that was about to collapse. Daughter Michelle Sandman (19) said the dog had to stay and was not allowed to get on the helicopter.

– We know it’s a miracle to expect her to be alive. But we sincerely hope it slips out there and someone sees it, Michelle Sandman told Nettavisen.

Night to Thursday, around kl. At 1:00 a.m. the answer to the family’s prayer arrived: the dog had been found and taken away by helicopter.

On New Year’s Eve, police were able to confirm that they are continuing their search in hopes of finding survivors. Earlier in the evening, it was announced that a new area had been evacuated following a report of concern over the formation of cracks. Police have banned fireworks for a kilometer around the landslide zone as a helicopter is in the air.
