Billionaire Tom Hagen (70) is accused of murder or complicity in the murder of his wife Anne-Elisabeth Hagen.

He disappeared from his home in Lørenskog about two years ago. The 70-year-old man denies having anything to do with the disappearance.

One of the police theories is that Anne-Elisabeth wanted a divorce and therefore wanted to challenge a marriage covenant that would give her husband almost every value.

During questioning, witnesses are said to have talked about the couple’s marital problems, according to VG.

– Never fear

Hagen’s child welfare attorney Ståle Kihle tells TV 2 that the divorce has not been a problem.

– My clients are convinced that if this had been a real issue for the couple, this would have been made known to them. In the Hagen family, there is a lot of openness, even on difficult subjects. Divorce was also never a topic in very intimate conversations between mother and daughter, Kihle says.

However, they do not hide the fact that the family has been through difficult times, even in the 90s.

– There was also frankness about this. Together they got through this difficult period, Kihle tells TV 2.

Separation papers

According to NRK, the police have found separation papers at the couple’s home. Anne-Elisabeth Hagen is also said to have conducted an internet divorce search on her computer.

– Lisbeth and I (mother’s nickname, editor’s note) have experienced a good marriage. But we have had bumps in the road, like everyone else. There is nothing to hide, Hagen has told NRK.

The billionaire was arrested on April 28 and charged with killing his wife. After ten days in custody, Hagen was released on May 8 by the Eidsivating Court of Appeal, which concluded that there was no good reason to suspect his murder.
