The health director fears that we will forget seriousness

He worries that people forget seriousness.

– Although I think that many in Norway feel that they are doing quite well now, we must maintain that it is a very serious disease that has the potential to end the lives of tens of thousands of people. Hundreds of thousands of people in Norway can become seriously ill, the director of the Norwegian Health Directorate tells NTB.

Remember that school-age children can lose their school and leisure activities and that working life can be greatly affected if many people leave work.

– The health service is overloaded and can have consequences for other groups of patients, not just Covid patients, says Guldvog.

Hard

The only opportunity we have to be able to open ourselves more to cultural life and to sports and other leisure activities is that we have a low infection pressure, says Guldvog, who encourages everyone to follow infection advice.

He worries that the fact that things are going so well in Norway makes it easier for people to come to grips with the situation.

– I know many who are now having a hard time for the crown, but it is important to know that we could have had a much worse time and it is precisely the measures we have that make us now have reasonable control.

Many are worried

According to a recent survey, 39 percent say they are concerned about being infected with coronary heart disease. This is as high a proportion as in March, according to Opinion, which conducts the survey called Norwegian Corona Monitor. However, it is lower than in mid-August, when 46 percent said they were concerned about becoming infected.
