BT received a notice on Friday that a single-family home in Oen in Øygarden was overheating.

When contacted by the fire department, it turned out to be true, but for a more reason than house fires typically have.

– It is an old house that is going to be demolished. Øygarden Fire and Rescue has made it available. There are some exercises today, and we should actually have our exercises tomorrow and, tell the duty commander, Jan Ove Haga on exchange 110.

That was not the case. After the fire brigade took the night and extinguished the city, the planned training weekend took a completely different direction.

– It turned out that he had recovered a bit, said Haga.

At 8:30 p.m., the house suddenly caught fire.

– So you were able to practice a little more than planned?

– Yes.

The fire service has established a hose installation in the city and was on its way to extinguish the fire at 8:44 p.m.

– Now they carry out a controlled burning of the house. They are in full control of the city, Haga says.
Therefore, people do not have to worry if they see the large flames of the building.
