The rescue management has decided to cancel the evacuation in Kogstad in Gjerdrum, say the police. – I’m glad I made progress, says Toril Hofshagen in NVE during a press conference on Sunday.
Kogstad lies about two kilometers from the area in the center of Ask, which was hit by the rapid clay landslide on Wednesday night.
On Thursday, 46 people were ordered to evacuate from the area after observing a crack in the ground three meters long and one meter deep and clay in a stream.
The cancellation of the evacuation is on the recommendation of the Norwegian Directorate of Water Resources and Energy (NVE).
– I’m glad we’ve made progress. We are still working full time to map the various areas in the city center, says Toril Hofshagen, NVE’s regional manager during a press conference in Gjerdrum on Sunday afternoon.
– Work will continue fully in the future to go further with our recommendations on where to keep evacuation and where not to.

NVE’s recommendation is based on ground investigations in the area combined with geotechnical analysis and assessments.
– Our professional advisers have concluded that there will be no danger of rapid clay landslides associated with the crack formations that have been observed on the ground, says Hofshagen.
There has been no development on the ground after the crack formations were reported, Hofshagen said during the press conference.
Residents to whom the derogation applies must be informed by the municipality of Gjerdrum via sms / voice message / email.
