DRAMMEN (Nettavisen): Philip Zinckernagel has been perhaps Bodø / Glimt’s most significant contributor to the club taking extremely strong league gold this season.
After he clinched the title in Drammen on Sunday, where the Dane scored the decisive 1-2, he was on fire. He struggled with his voice in all the golden glee, but he was able to assure him that he was ready for the celebration late into the night.
With five games remaining of the season and gold in the area, Zinckernagel also reveals that his Glimt career could soon be over. The Copenhagen contract expires after the current season and the interest in the winger is enormous. As Nettavisen previously reported, he signed a deal with super agent Pini Zahavi earlier this fall. The Israeli will help with the next step in the 25-year-old’s career.
– As I said, I will make a decision after the championship. Now I will enjoy this and get my voice back, before I talk to my agent about what is moving, Zinckernagel tells Nettavisen.

Soon announces decision
This fall, in consultation with his agents, including Zahavi, he turned down an offer from Istanbul Basaksehir. The online newspaper also knows that Fortuna Düsseldorf and Dutch Heerenveen have highly valued Zinckernagel in recent months. Now the main character himself goes a long way in suggesting that he aims even higher in terms of club level and direction, than those that have been mentioned.
“We have to talk about the future, but there must be something really good and a nice big league for him to leave Glimt,” he says.
He suggests that a decision about his own future may be closer than Glimt fans would want.
– We have to see what happens in the next few days. It’s a bit out of my control if things can happen that fast, we need to chat now, but there is huge interest and the clubs are ready. It’s about being a little patient and knowing if it’s okay. It’s a tough decision, Zinckernagel continues.
The online newspaper has contacted Zinckernagel’s agents. They do not want to comment on the matter.

– The sum will be so high that Glimt has to sell
At Bodø, Freddy Toresen has closely followed Glimt’s success this season. The AN journalist is very impressed with the level Danish imports have shown this year.
– Zinckernagel had not had those numbers (15 goals and 19 scorers) in for example Brann or Vålerenga. Some players will disappear, if there are three or four key players. It’s because the upcoming offers will be so interesting to the player and the sums will be so high that Glimt has to attack, Toresen tells Nettavisen.
Zinckernagel’s contract expires after the season and he can leave the club for free. His Danish partner and co-worker Kasper Junker has a longer contract with the club but has also attracted great interest after 19 goals in 20 games.
– If the offer for Junker is high enough, it will be sold. I think that makes sense. But there are many who will be at Glimt next year, I know that too. Glimt has the capital to attract players.
He cites a recent example that shows how the club has developed.
– Hugo Vetlesen was 17 years old and played 26 games for Stabæk in 2017, and it should be the next big thing in Norway. Came to Bodø this fall, that’s a sign. It shows that Glimt has access to young, hungry and good soccer players that they didn’t have before. This means that Glimt has a chance to pick the right guys, so they can recreate what they’ve done this year. It will never be as great as this year, but I am convinced that Glimt will also be difficult to beat in 2021, Toresen concludes to Nettavisen.
