The Armed Forces field boundary has remained virtually unchanged since the 1960s. Now you have to scrap it and make a new type. Until then, soldiers can wear caps.

The idea of getting a new kind of campaign hat is not new, work on it has been going on for a decade, but now it is only a matter of a few months before it is temporarily replaced by a hat, writes the Forum of the Armed forces.

– We have seen that today’s campaign hat, which was produced mainly in the 60s, is unpopular and associated with a draft garment that everyone hopes to get rid of, says Army Sgt. Rune Wenneberg.

A commercial plug has been tried among recruits and with some modifications it is not far off. But it can take a long time before a new field hat is implemented, as there are several projects that are prioritized before acquiring a new type of field hat.

Among the defense recruits, spirits are divided. Some people are happy to ditch the garment, others think it is perfectly fine, had it not been for the ugly ear flaps.
