The Oslo Conservatives currently have six representatives in the Storting. If the party continues in the government, several deputies will be able to intervene.

The committee is unanimous in all places except for sixth place. A narrow majority of ten members nominate Michael Tetzschner and nine members nominate Stefan Heggelund.

Tetzschner has been a member of the Storting since 2009 and, among other things, has been a finance councilor and leader of the city council in Oslo. It was third on the list in 2017.

Heggelund has been meeting at the Storting since 2013 and was nominated for number six in 2017.

Tetzschner is currently vice chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, while Heggelund is a spokesperson for the conservative party’s energy policy. They both sit in the Storting.

The list proposal for the first places looks like this:

  • 1 Minister for Foreign Affairs Ine Eriksen Søreide (44)
  • 2 Minister of Local Government and Modernization Nikolai Astrup (42)
  • 3 Storting representative Heidi Nordby Lunde (47)
  • 4 Member of the Storting Mudassar Kapur (43)
  • 5 Member of the Storting Mathilde Tybring-Gjedde (27)
  • 6 * Storting member Michael Tetzschner (66) (10 votes)
  • 6 * Storting representative Stefan MB Heggelund (35) (9 votes)
  • 7 Director Eirik Lae Solberg (49)
  • 8 Founder Hilde Helland (42)

Eirik Lae Solberg is a former finance advisor and leading candidate for the Oslo Conservatives in local elections and, along with founder Hilde Helland, newcomers to the Storting list.

The committee’s leader, Erling Lae, says the committee comes up with a strong list.

– The work of the Appointments Committee, however, has been difficult because there are candidates with more talent than it is possible to propose somewhere safe on the list. Sixth, therefore, there is dissent in the committee.

The proposed list contains 13 women and 14 men (including dissenters). The mean age is 46.1 years. The list must contain a total of 26 names.

Oslo Conservatives plans to hold a nomination meeting digitally on Monday, December 14, 2020.
