– I am dismayed by the irresponsible behavior of some of our political leaders after the elections, and the current lack of respect for our institutions, our traditions and our police.

– That the elected representatives fulfill their functions and represent our voices in peace and security.

– The president is responsible

Wyoming Republican Liz Cheney, the party’s third principal representative in the House of Representatives, tells Fox News that she will clarify Trump’s role in the assault on the Congress building.

Republican Senator Richard Burr of North Carolina goes even further and is clear that he believes Trump is responsible for what happened.

– The president is responsible for today’s events, in the sense that he has promoted the unfounded conspiracy theories that have led up to this point, he writes in a statement, and notes that the US courts have rejected that there is a basis for widespread voter fraud in this year’s presidential election.

Utah Republican Senator Mitt Romney, who has identified himself as a staunch critic of Trump, said in a statement that the president is responsible for the chaos in Washington DC:

– What happened today was an uprising, caused by the president of the United States. Those who decide to continue to support his dangerous plan and oppose the results of legitimate and democratic elections will forever be seen as complicit in a unique attack on our democracy.

Early Wednesday, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell also spoke out strongly against Trump, saying he feared America would be destroyed forever.
