The dismissal is confirmed by the board of the expert group, writes Dagens Næringsliv. Vice President Adam Lupel will be Rød-Larsen’s temporary replacement.
On Wednesday, the chairman of the board, Kevin Rudd, strongly opposed Rød-Larsen and called the extraordinary meeting of the board for him to explain himself.
Over the past year, DN has documented a series of connections between Rød-Larsen, IPI, and the late financier and abuser Jeffrey Epstein.
According to the newspaper, Rød-Larsen borrowed money from Epstein and authorized a refund that went through IPI.
– Neither the loan nor its repayment had previously been delivered to the board or to me as president. Rød-Larsen apologized to the board for what he described as a serious error of judgment, President Rudd told DN on Wednesday.
The board has emphasized that they did not know about the connection between Rød-Larsen and Epstein.
Rød-Larsen has been repeatedly asked before to clarify his connections to the now-deceased billionaire, without giving clear answers.
