Sweden is in the midst of the second wave of infections, and the Swedish government has introduced strict restrictions to prevent more people from becoming infected and hospitals from collapsing.

However, some choose to ignore these recommendations.

– Illegal match in violation of our internal rules

During a private event organized by employees at the Skistar ski resort in Sälen in Dalarna, many are said to have gathered for a long-awaited social break. This is confirmed by the company management.

– Several employees organized an illegal party that is contrary to both our internal rules and the recommendations of the authorities during the ongoing corona pandemic, Jonas Bauer, Skistar’s destination manager in Sälen, tells SVT.

According to the recommendations of the National Board of Public Health, it is not advisable to gather for a party for fear of infection. Sweden has very high death rates and numbers of infected compared to its neighboring countries.

– Those affected must leave work and Skistar

Now the party has serious consequences. Now employees are being asked to resign.

– The consequence was that we agreed with those affected that they should leave work and Skistar. We, as employers, have acted in previous cases in a similar way. We are doing it now, and we will if it happens again, emphasizes Jonas Bauer.

According to SVT, the popular alpine destination has increased its focus on the safety of its employees, guests and residents of Sälen, which under normal circumstances is also an attractive destination for many Norwegians on vacation.

– Very high risk of a third wave

The infection situation in Sweden is now so serious that there is a danger of a new wave of infection.

– There is a very high risk of a third wave, and we have a very serious situation in the labor market, Finance Minister Magdalena Andersson said at a press conference on Tuesday.
