SV and Labor in Armor after Akson’s latest reveal

– This is starting to turn into a sham, says Aps Ingvild Kjerkol. And SV health politician Nicholas Wilkinson takes a very unusual initiative after reading Akson’s latest revelation from Aftenposten.

– That a management hires consultants to handle and respond to media research on the management is absolutely incredible, says Kjerkol.

She is the main spokesperson for the party’s health policy in the Storting.

– This is a very serious matter. It may seem like big public assignments have gone directly to private consulting firms, says SV’s Nicholas Wilkinson.

You are now recalling a special section in the Storting rules of procedure so that you can better investigate what happened.

Having paid consultants to gossip documents.

In several articles, Aftenposten has shed light on the use of consultants in the Akson state e-health project. It will provide a new common registration solution for municipalities.

For several years, one of PwC’s part owners was allowed to act as a state representative and project manager on the project study.

The management of the e-Health Directorate, responsible for Akson, has highlighted that it is in charge of the project.

“PwC’s role in the project is inflated,” director Christine Bergland wrote at the address in a reader post in July.

Now, however, Aftenposten has revealed that PwC has been paid to prepare moments for interviews with, among others, Aftenposten. This has happened despite the fact that the management has its own communication department.

Management has also paid PwC to have its consultant consider a document access issue and review parts of the content. This is shown on timesheets.

Labor: Starting to be a sham

– This is beginning to become a sham, says Ingvild Kjerkol.

Now he wonders whether PwC has also contributed a professional basis for answers to the written questions that the Storting has sent to the Minister on Akson. Kjerkol has now sent questions to the Minister of Health about it.

She believes that the use of consultants here violates good administrative practice.

– For a management to hire consultants to handle and respond to media research on management is absolutely incredible. Here we are talking about a perfect cycle. It is appropriate to remember that it is public money that is wasted, he says.

– If a management allows a consulting firm to carry out both tenders and manage the media for its own benefit, it is not only a waste of community money, but also a serious abuse of power and trust. The minister must be in the field. The entire project is your responsibility, Wilkinson says.

He believes that the Ministry of Health and Care Services has so far been remarkably silent. To make sure the case is followed up, take a drastic step.

– If it is as it appears in the Aftenposten articles, we will consider a control track, says Wilkinson.

It refers to article 74 of the Storting Regulations. According to him, a representative “who wishes to request access to government and administrative documents” can submit a request in writing to the President of the Storting.

Request all relevant information from Høie

On Wednesday, he sent such a letter. Here you request all relevant documentation related to the communication between the ministry and the E-health directorate on the cooperation between the management and PwC from September 2019 until now.

According to that section, the President must refer the investigation to the responsible Minister of State. In this case, it is the Minister of Health and Sanitation Bent Høie. Then as soon as possible and at the latest within three days “Deliver the document or indicate in writing why it has not been delivered within the term …”»

Høie may reject the application to the extent that the document can be exempted from public access. But according to the section, we must highlight «the special position and information needs of representatives “.
