Until a couple of hours ago, we received many reports of everything from trees that had fallen or were about to fall to roof tiles that had loosened and jolted against the mass of the building. Closed mountain crossings
Strong winds and snowflakes create problems for mountain traffic in southern Norway on Monday afternoon, NTB writes.
At 4:45 pm, Highway 7 on Hardangervidda was closed, but there was free traffic on E16 on Filefjell, E134 on Haukelifjell and Highway 52 on Hemsedalsfjellet, reports the Norwegian Public Highway Administration.
E6 on Dovrefjell, County Highway 50 Hol-Aurland, National Highway 15 on Strynefjellet, County Highway 27 on Venabygdsfjellet and County Highway 51 on Valdresflye is completely closed, and the last three do not open on Monday.
– It is the wind and the snowflake that create problems, and in some places it also snows, traffic operator Mette Brunes tells NTB.
– Generally there will be a lot of weather in the mountains in the coming days, mainly at mountain crossings in southern Norway. Now, not many people move in the mountains during the day, but those who drive over mountain crossings should check the weather and drive, according to meteorologist Granerød at VG.
Tuesday’s conditions will improve in the eastern mountains.
– From Wednesday it seems that we will have temperatures above fifteen degrees and sunshine, but from Thursday the temperature may drop slightly again. In southern Norway, there is a build-up of high pressure, so it is permissible to wait for a very pleasant weekend, says the meteorologist.
– From western Norway, it will continue with cloudy weather and rain on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and cloudy weather will fall again until Friday. But even there, there may be gradually better weather, and relatively pleasant from Friday.
