Stokmarknes Airport Skagen in the FOT route network in the state government budget and Frp – NRK

On Tuesday night, word came that the government and the FRP have agreed on next year’s state budget.

One of the new changes is that the state from next year will buy routes from Stokmarknes airport in Skagen. Vesterålen Airport will be included in the so-called FOT schedule. Therefore, it will be advertised in tenders as the state does on other routes in Norway.

– This will give a completely different predictability in the situation of the crown in which we are now, says parliamentary representative Kjell-Børge Freiberg (Frp) to NRK.

The FRP politician says that with this one one can expect cheaper plane tickets and more departures.

– For Vesterålen, this is a very important decision, he says.

Freiberg is himself a former mayor of Hadsel, the municipality in which the airport is located, and now sits on the Justice Committee in the Storting.

Few departures and expensive tickets to Vesterålen have long created despair among those who depend on flying.

The news that the state is now in favor of buying FOT routes from Stokmarknes also in the future was probably on par with other budget news such as tax cuts on alcohol, tobacco and sugar, seen through Vesterålen’s eyes. .

– For us, this is the tram, the bus and the train, and when it does not work, this has great consequences for residents and companies who need to fly both within and outside the region, says Freiberg.

– A crown measure

– I think what they have put in place so far is good, but this is just a temporary fix, says Wilfred Nordlund (Sp) to NRK.

Nordlund sits at the Storting for the Center Party and believes this is not necessarily a guarantee that the offer will be permanent.

– This is a crown measure, which so far is laudable, but does not guarantee a permanent scheme will be achieved, he tells NRK.
