After sending Stabæk ahead, Andreas Hanche-Olsen appeared to avoid a win at Haugesund, but that was before Darren Maatsen scored 2-1 off the crossbar.
Maatsen won the match when, calmly and restrained, he returned the ball to the penalty area in the center right.
– It was a very good ending for the baby, if I may say so. I can only be happy and proud, Maatsen tells TV Norway.

This is Maatsen’s first goal for Stabæk in his fifth game. The Dutchman has battled injuries since the transfer this summer.
– It was tough. Especially at the beginning to disappoint them. It has been disappointing. I couldn’t do much more than be patient, says Maatsen.

Increased self-confidence
For Stabæk, victory can mean a lot and give a boost of confidence before the game against third-placed Odd on Sunday. After inflicting the first points loss to Bodø / Glimt in the eleventh round, the Bærum team remained with three losses and two draws before Saturday’s game.
