On November 16, Silje Solberg’s Györ club confirmed that the Norwegian national team goalkeeper had tested positive for the coronavirus.
Solberg was tested again on Tuesday this week and the test showed that she is still infected with the virus. He has not been with the national team in Denmark and is still in Hungary.
Hergeirsson has to wait longer: Solberg is not in Denmark
The goalkeeper will be tested again on Saturday morning.
– We will receive a little more data on Saturday, since then they will do the test. If it’s negative, there’s a good chance it can get here pretty quickly, the national team manager tells TV 2.
– Can there be several positive tests?
– Yes, of course you can do that. We don’t know anything about that. It is very different from person to person, doctors say. But we hope you’re done with that now.
Hergeirsson is not sure when he will possibly take Solberg to Denmark.
– We’ll probably be a bit realistic when it comes to that. It will probably take you a couple of days, because you are going through some medical checks outside of these Covid tests. You must pass them before you can leave Hungary. Then he will be training, then he will be able to feel the ball, he has not done it in three weeks. It will be the first priority, and then it will be Emily and Rikke who will watch over the cage from the start if Silje doesn’t have time to prepare. It takes a lot.
– So you don’t have Silje Solberg at the opening of the European Championship?
– No. Not if we want to be realistic.
