Cruel attack from Birger Meling’s teammate in Friday’s game against PSG.

NIMES-PSG 0-3

Birger Meling returned to France on Friday after some hectic weeks with the Norwegian national team. The left-back, who impressed Norway in both Nations League matches after the famous loss to Serbia, was relegated to the bench in the big game against the star team from Paris.

PSG also lacked several players after the intense international campaign in recent weeks, including the Brazilian Neymar.

After a steady start to the match on Friday night, his overall character changed after 12 minutes.

– He has nothing to do on a soccer field.

The local team’s Loick Landre was too late in a duel with PSG’s newest acquisition Rafinha and literally planted the goatee with a right foot directly into the thigh and abdomen region of the former Barcelona player.

– It’s an ugly entry and was close to the red card before. Oi, oi, oi, yeah, it’s right there in the shower. It has nothing to do with a soccer field. There is a red card and directly in the shower, there is no need to look surprised. It’s a terribly awkward defensive game, was commentator Morten Langli’s immediate reaction after the cruel tackle.

After a short pause, the Viasport commentator was no more impressed with the input from the Nimes player.

– It’s so amazing to go that way. It’s shocking, Langli continued.

After 32 minutes, Kylian Mbappé put PSG in the lead as he circled the goalkeeper and put the ball into the open goal of Nimes.

PSG ran the game overall after the lead goal and could have won quickly with higher numbers. In the second half, Alessandro Florenzi doubled the advantage.

Mbappé was at times totally dominant on the field and also rose to 3-0 after 83 minutes. It was also the last thing he did before leaving the field.

Just before the end, Pablo Sarabia also scored for PSG, who ultimately won the match 4-0.

– It was an almost a bit sad performance after this, Langli summed up.

Meling remained on the bench throughout the game.

The team from the capital leads Ligue 1 after seven games, Nimes is 13th in the table.
