Liverpool fought back

Shortly before the break, Liverpool’s reduction goal came after a corner from the right. Takumi Minamino hit the ball to James Milner, who threw the ball into the area.

There, Joel Matip climbed higher and scored 1-2 for Jürgen Klopp’s team.

Klopp wasn’t very happy with what he saw from his men in the first half, but early in the second half he got a response. It had been 52 minutes since Blackpool’s Marvin Ekpiteta tried to clear the ball ten meters from his own goal.

The ball went straight to the area, but Sadio Mané only hit the post. The ball returned to Mané, who headed off the crossbar, before the return easily made it 2-2 in the open goal.

Soon after, it was Roberto Firmino’s turn to make his mark on the scorers’ list when Minamino fired a shot from an angle from inside the penalty area.

Firmino stood in the right place at the right time and easily led the 3-2 on the inside of the heel.

Be Roberto Firminos 3-2 marking her:

Midway through the second half, it was backups Divock Origi and Harvey Elliott who secured the lead for the reigning league champions.

Origi passed the ball to the 17-year-old, who hit the ball into the goal through the goalkeeper’s gloves and the post.

Just over a quarter of an hour before the end, Minamino rose to 5-2 for the hosts after another excellent attack from Liverpool.

Firmino walked away from an opponent, before pushing the ball towards Minamino. The Japanese used a few touches and a shot, before hitting in Liverpool’s fifth.

Five minutes before the end, Curtis Jones hit from the right and Origi couldn’t help but make it 6-2 for the Merseyside team.

In the 88th minute, an error by the local left defense allowed Sepp van den Berg to take the lead, who passed the local goalkeeper and added another goal for the visitors.

Keita lifted the ball off the back post where Elliott extended it back to van den Berg, who could easily make it 7-2 at the open goal.

Liverpool open the series at home against Leeds next Saturday at 6.30 pm.
