Smell for Rekdal – downgraded by a former student

Kjetil Rekdal was looking for his third victory as HamKam coach in Monday’s first division match at Strømmen Stadium. But two goals from Strømmen’s Kjell Rune Sellin and one from Youssef Chaib caused Rekdal’s men to leave the field empty-handed.

The 3-0 win also means Strømmen earned his second win in seven games and is above the relegation line before the remaining games on Monday are over. The settlement in Strømmen began an hour before the other parties.

Sellin scored the first goal of the first half when he arrived alone with the goalkeeper in the 37th minute, while Chaib doubled the lead from the penalty spot five minutes after the break. The quarter before the end, Sellin set the final score at 3-0 when he put the ball into the goal from close range.

Just minutes before the 2-0 goal, HamKam’s Adeleke Akinyemi had a goal disallowed after the linesman called offside. Kjetil Rekdal thus has two wins, a draw and three losses in his first six games as HamKam coach.

The following matches will start later: Jerv – Sogndal, Kongsvinger – Åsane, Ranheim – Ull / Kisa, Raufoss – Grorud, Stjørdals-Blink – Sandnes Ulf, Øygarden – YMCA Oslo.
