On Sunday, police from Møre og Romsdal, Trøndelag, Finnmark and Innlandet reported several accidents on slippery roads.

– In the morning many sections of road are slippery, with a thin layer of snow and mud at altitude, but in fact also in lower areas, says Møre og Romsdal operations manager, Roar Fylling to VG.

On Sunday three road accidents were reported in Møre og Romsdal. The landfill says slippery roads have been reported throughout the county.

– There has been a car accident in Stranda, and then one in Sunndalen, which is at the other end of the county. I can’t say what the cause of the accidents is, but it was slippery in both places, the operations manager tells VG around 12.00.

At 12:45 the police report Twitter that a car ran off the road in Sande. People seem unscathed. The police do not write what the cause of the accident is.

Two people have been sent to hospital after the traffic accidents in Stranda and Sunndalen. Both should be aware, but the extent of the damage is currently unknown.

Landfill asks road users to be aware of driving conditions if they are to hit the road on Sunday.

– If you are going to go out and climb a bit in height, you must make sure you are properly footwear. Winter is coming, says Fylling.

Head-on collision in Trøndelag

Challenges have also been created on Trøndelag’s roads.

– Today we received several messages related to slippery roads. There have been cars running off the road and most recently a head-on collision in Berkåk, Trøndelag Police District Operations Manager Øystein Sagen tells VG.

The frontal collision was between a trailer and a car. Both people in the car must be conscious. The extent of the damage is currently unknown and they are attended by medical personnel.

– Usually we don’t get reports of good driving, but from time to time we get reports from across the district that there are slippery roads, he says, and he encourages people to check the weather forecast before getting in the car.

At 2:19 p.m., the Trøndelag police report Twitter that a car ran off the road in Oppdal. No one should be injured on the descent.

Two accidents inside

Inland Police have reported two traffic accidents on Sunday.

First a downhill race in Tolga where it was slippery and bumpy in place. Then a car entered the ditch of the Veo bridge in Sjodalsvegen.

– It is snowing and there are slopes in the highest areas and in the mountain passes. It was reported, so we were prepared for it and we followed it. So we hope motorists are also prepared. Now it’s just a matter of adjusting to the conditions, Innlandet police district operations manager Sissel Svarstad tells VG.

A traffic accident in Finnmark

In Finnmark, there was a report on Sunday of a car accident in Kirkenes, where it was also slippery.

– I cannot say anything about the cause, but we have been notified that it was slippery on the spot. The person got out of the car on his own and is undergoing a health check, says Finnmark Police District Operations Manager Eirik Pedersen.

Police then register Twitter that it is not about personal injury and that the police report the case when the car was not equipped with winter tires.

Finnmark police received no further reports of slippery roads on Sunday, but the operations manager says to keep in mind that it is now winter driving at various places on the roads.

– The first snow has arrived in recent days. It’s always a challenge to go from safe summer driving to more demanding driving. That’s why I want to say “obs obs” to all road users, says Pedersen.

– Don’t go to the mountain without winter tires

The Meteorological Institute wrote on Friday that they expected periods of snow at the altitude this weekend.

– We have updated the snow hazard warnings in Norway, and from the Sognefjord to western Finnmark, periods of high altitude snow are expected this weekend. Don’t go to the mountain without winter tires! They wrote Twitter.

Sunday write the meteorologists that the first snowfall of the season will occur in various places in southern Norway on Monday and Tuesday, but that in the lowlands it will eventually turn into rain.
