The 23-year-old from Ålesund won the newcomer award in 2017, was ignored in 2018, and won the most prestigious trophy for 2019. She was also named pop artist of the year.
The 2019 Spellman Prize comes even later in the year than the generally awarded prize, due to the crown crisis.
But now the biggest trophy has been awarded, without the usual cheers and applause from a crowded room.
Sigrid received the award on a two-year set on “Lindmo” on a recording earlier this week. (See clip at the top of the box).
– I have dreamed of winning Spellemann of the Year since I started writing songs at age 16, Sigrid tells VG.
– When I grew up and started writing, it was Spellemann who was the great one and still is. That this is already happening on the debut album is really cool.
Thank you listeners
Take the opportunity to give a short thank you speech:
– This is aimed at the team, band, team, producers and composers I have worked with, my family and all my sources of inspiration. Thanks to the Spellman Committee and those in the Norwegian music industry who have paved the way!
And not least:
– Finally, I want to thank everyone who listens to my music, you make it possible here.
– This year, Spellemann is the greatest of the greatest. I will live this one for the rest of my life.
– A strange spell
But in the current situation of the crown there is also sadness and need.
– I miss the band and the team very much. It’s nice and a little painful when we see each other, because we don’t know exactly when the next time will be, says Sigrid.
– How does this crisis affect you and your music?
– It affects me a lot. There is an entire industry in decline, perhaps. Everything is very unclear, and there are many I know who have lost the base of jobs and wages, it has been brought down, especially for the part of the industry that depends on tours.

Sigrid nominated for most Spellemann Awards
But she is happy that the measures are being followed and that the government is trying to get on track.
Sigrid is currently in Ålesund with her family. It feels good to celebrate with those close by, even though he would have liked to have attended an award ceremony and met and hugged the other nominees.
– He’s a good Spellemann this year.
Sigrid is also the winner of the pop artist category, and is the double winner of Spellemann. In that category she thanks Gabrielle, Ruben and Bendik.
Also, its lead producer Martin Sjølie is the category winner for this year’s producer. He has produced most of Sigrid’s debut album “Sucker Punch”, and several of his hits.
In the NRK broadcast, it was Sigrid himself who called Sjølie to give him the good news. She tells VG that she has been waiting for him to receive this award, which was very deserving.
– I have great news: you have won the producer of the year!
– Not! Are you undercover? Asks Sjølie, before it rings.
– So wonderfully well! Good to hear from you. There is one person to thank, it is Sigrid then, and my wife Aurora, because she is the coolest in the world.
Empty last time
Sigrid won the Spellemann Prize for this year’s 2017 newcomer and had serious professional winds when she attended the 2018 award ceremony in late March last year.
By then, his album had been out for three weeks, received adventurous criticism internationally, and reached fourth place on the UK album chart, which is his largest market outside of Norway.
However, there were no prices then. And 2018 Player of the Year went to Alan Walker.
– No, so he was very happy for those who won on his behalf, because they deserved it. And I had a great evening with Spellemann last year, but he’s clearly sick winning this year.
For 2019 there may be another award for Sigrid. On Saturday she can win this year’s song category, where she is nominated for “Feel Feel Like Crying.”
